Instructor Bio
Formerly a legal adviser, Brenda experienced the power of God more than 20 years
ago and since then, she has not looked back. Her passion is to see God’s people
discipled in the Word of God and in prayer, and the Church becoming a House of
Prayer for all nations. Currently, she is the Team Lead (Honorary Staff) overseeing
the Prayer & Intercession ministry of her Church-St John’s-St Margaret’s Church.

She is schooled and skilled in the Word of God and has taught at the Anglican
Diocesan Certificate of Biblical Studies in the past few years. She also teaches in
the areas of Hearing the Voice of God and conducts yearly Prayer Training classes
for members within and outside her Church.
Synopsis
Open to those already interested and involved in intercessory prayer, and who want to grow deeper and stronger in the ministry of intercession.

Topic 1: Intercessory Prayer
Topic 2: Listening to God in Prayer
Topic 3: Prayer Shield
Topic 4: Warfare Prayer
Description

It’s one session per topic (about 2.5 hrs per session). Total: 4 sessions for the 4 topics. The 4 topics are foundational to equipping the intercessors.

Topic 1: Intercessory Prayer

Focus: “To pray for others is of divine appointment, and it represents the highest form of Christian service.” (E.M. Bounds) .

Main Areas Covered in this Session:

• The ultimate Intercessor, Jesus Christ

• The role of the Holy Spirit

• Two biblical models: Moses and Daniel

• The heart and attitude of an intercessor | Identification Repentance

• The pitfalls and hindrances (group intercession)

• The watching aspect of intercession


Topic 2: Listening to God in Prayer

Focus: Moving from monologue to dialogue. “Listening to God’s voice is the secret of the assurance that He will listen to yours....” (Andrew Murray)

Main Areas Covered in this Session:

• The Shepherd’s voice

• The discipline of listening

• The disciplines of solitude, silence and stillness

• The various ways God may speak during prayer

• The discerning of God’s voice and safeguards


Topic 3: Prayer Shield

Focus: “The health of any church is directly related to the quality of its leadership” (Oswald Sanders). As the world grows darker, their task will become harder. Intercession for them is likened to a shield that protects and upholds them.

Main Areas Covered in this Session:

• The common challenges pastors face

• The preeminent example of Paul

• The reasons why few leaders receive personal intercession

• The different types of prayer shields

• The model prayer leader


Topic 4: Warfare Prayer

Focus: From Genesis to Revelation, it’s an intense conflict, for “beneath surface appearances, an unseen spiritual battle is raging on” (John Stott).

Main Areas Covered in this Session:

• The Divine Warrior, Jesus Christ

• The defeated foe – his origins, destiny, titles, function names, his kingdom and mission.

• The armour of God

• The Spirit-inspired strategies

• The tearing down of strongholds
